The year 1998 marked the Centennial Celebration of Wahiawa Town, a
picturesque community on the central plain of Oahu and some 20 miles
from downtown Honolulu. There, in 1898, shortly after the Hawaiian
Islands were annexed by the United States, thirteen
homesteadersmainly from Californiasettled the raw land
and began building the community which lives today.
